Thought an Original One:
He said that I never had one. That was someone that I once knew and that was many thoughts ago, original or not. That is what inspired me to challenge science and religion to what is and can be considered original in saying what you think and or know.
I would often take joy and comfort in being able to quote from famous authors, poets, philosophers and scientists of yesteryear. However what once made me feel some degree of intelligence now makes me feel like a myna bird. Simply put, a programmed data piece that regurgitates a key phrase when prompted to speak that which had been stored in my memory bank and spoken when the proper cue is given.
This brings me to a very touchy subject. Since birth we have been programmed. Agreed?
Walking, talking, sitting, standing and yes speaking. Our words are not our own. Different nations will put you to death, ostracize, alienate, penalizing in many shapes and forms because of the very thoughts which turns into words. This could be due to genetics, nurturing, peers, society, education, religion or a combination of all of the above. Or are they? Or should I say, who’s to say which if any are they?
Could it be that as a single entity we had nothing to do with it? My purpose is to try to prove uniqueness, originality and yes that we as human beings are capable of an original thought. Without it being a scientific experiment, mathematical equation or something of the sort that would require a “proof”, however, that is exactly my point. Who is to say that ____________x_______ didn’t have the theory before ______y______just because he wrote it down in ____________z_______________. Does that mean that it is or isn’t an original thought because was or was not documented?
Who’s In Control
We’re born, we live and we die. This is an absolute that we know. A concrete that I’m putting out there to validate my sanity before I continue on with my: shall we say pent-upness?(yes I’m making up words now) I’ve earned the right given the above. Now along with that thought comes the argument “How original are we as beings”? Did we live before? Is it déjà vu that we have or is it that I had this thought or experience before in this life and I’m just having a flash back? Have I had this experience in my life prior to this one or the one before it?
The fact of the matter is this. Each one of us has had the onset or a shudder and then the realization that “Oh my God, this has happened before. I was here in this exact spot and you were there saying that to me and then he walked in the door just when the phone rang. Etc. etc…… Another scenario may be that you pick up the phone to call your brother and he’s already on the line and you haven’t even started to dial yet. Some people may call them coincidences-a coincidence is happenstance, a simultaneous collision of two events that has no special significance and obeys the laws of probability, paranormal or God’s plan.
The Unknown
To have an original thought I’m concluding that we must delve into the unknown. However I must point out here that it might only be unknown to the observer and/or the audience. Presenting data that we claim has never been seen or heard of prior to our knowledge is an act of pompousness. Because we can not prove as a human race that our facts and figures have not been displayed in another time, place or galaxy, we self - righteously claim them as our own “original thought(‘s)”. As a human race I’ll attribute this to fear of the unknown and man or woman wanting to conquer and claim all things as their own not bothering to realize the unreality of it all. So they lay claim to their thoughts. Claiming them as “original” and we as the myna birds will go on repeating them through the millennia. No one doubting or questioning.
